This workshop will give participants a comprehensive introduction to mold
making, casting and the reproduction of 3D objects in a variety of different
John van der Kolk trained as a patternmaker/ industrial designer and has been a practicing sculptor for more than 25 years.
In the 3 days
we will work with materials and techniques for making molds and
we will explore many different objects and the methods of reproducing them, from found objects, things in nature,hands and faces and pieces you will make during the workshop.
you will also be introduced to many different mediums to cast in, form specialised plasters and patternstone, resins, polymer ceramics, cold cast metals and urethanes.
Be ready for a fun and informative time as John attempts to squeeze in 20 years
of experience into 3 days.
