Weekly furniture making and fine woodworking class.
3 class times available - Mornings 9-12, afternoons 1-4, and evenings 5:30-8:30.
Students all begin with a hand tools only project - learning to work to a fine level with hand tools is fundamental to furniture making. As well as making furniture, we explore drawing, design development and sustainable design. Students will learn how to use hand tools, how to sharpen edge tools, and how to choose, make and tune-up hand tools. We also cover safe use of power tools (our workshop is equipped with high quality tools from Festool, Elu etc), and the safe operation of major static machinery (our machinery is industrial scale - and includes a Felder panel saw, Wadkin jointer, 36 inch bandsaw, Hammer spiral head thicknesser, spindle moulder, mortisers, overhead routers etc)
$75 per class. $210 will buy a block of 10 hours, which needs to be used within a month.
Term 2 continues from Thu, Jul 26, 2018 - see event on calendar below.
