About Carol Russell

Carol Russell has been working with timber for most of her adult life, She began in 1987 with small furniture projects and antique restoration, spending time learning from craftsmen who were prepared to share their knowledge. Carol worked as a furniture maker, focusing on small commission projects and exhibiting her work in galleries in Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney.

A role with a woodworking supplies company Carbatec for 17 years gave her the opportunity to teach, train staff and write woodworking articles for online and print publication. The Australian Wood Review have published several of her articles on tools and woodworking techniques. Carol decided to return to her own workshop full time to concentrate on her furniture making and carving.

She also loves to teach woodwork to children and adults, encouraging them to experience the pleasure of creating something with their own hands from some of our beautiful Australian timber.
